With a convincing win over visitors Harrow 2, our 3rd team retained its position at the top of the Division 3 table. With 3 wins from 3 matches plus a match that was won by default, the Jackals have made an encouraging start to the season.

Match report by Kishan Pattni
The last time we played Harrow we lost 8-0. Although I was aiming for a similar result a 7-1 scoreline was satisfying. However the scoreline does not tell the full story of our triumph as certain games were far from easy!
We started off with Chris and then myself winning comfortably. Salvatore also won his game convincingly.
Frank started off dominantly but had to fight back to win his game – he claims he was lucky. David Jones was next to finish with a draw.
New member Joseph Levene also won on his debut for the team in a rather tense game. Despite struggling on time he was able to capitalise in an open game – in my opinion the best game of the lot.
Our top 2 boards were the last to finish. Jonathan played an interesting game. He won on time but always seemed confident with his position. Ionica also mantained his unbeaten record for the 3rd team by forcing a draw with perpetual check.
So far then 4 wins out of 4 for the Jackals. Well done everybody!
