Sadly I couldn’t play for the 2nd team in this match due to feeling unwell, but Tomer Eden kindly sent me the following texts during the evening, to keep me informed of progress:
20:30 Ionica is crushing Paul. Kishan up 2 pawns against Chris. Rob is 2 pawns down to Helge with little compensation. No results yet. [That’s a poor start for the 2nd team!]
20:45 Kishan messing up but Rob can resign – Helge has excellent compensation for his 2 extra pawns :-)
20:58 Chris won his pawns back. Strange move by Simon – I think Gayan is winning now.
21:06 Helge somehow blundered an exchange and it’s no longer clear!! Gayan probably only drawing.
21:26 Dan Ellis and Pepe both won. 2nd team turning it around. [Phew! Starting to relax now.]
21:42 Rob drew!!! Adam winning. Gayan will be a draw.
