We are delighted to announce that IM Lorin D’Costa, a long-time friend of Hendon Chess Club, will be giving a simultaneous display on Thursday 5th May at our new venue, the Cumberland Club.
Proceeds will go to the non-profit organisation She Plays to Win, which aims to popularise chess among girls and young women.
If you would like to apply to participate as a player, please click here.
The event will start at 7:30pm. Lorin will play approximately 20 simultaneous games against people who have registered beforehand. (For those unfamiliar with how simuls work, this article has some helpful information.)
Participation costs £20 per person, with proceeds going to a good cause as mentioned above. Spectators are welcome.
Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, with priority being given to Hendon members until 28th April; non-members will receive confirmation of whether their application has been successful after that date. (Anyone who would like to join the club for this event is of course welcome to do so!)
Thank you to Lorin for agreeing to give this event: we look forward to seeing many of you there!
