We’re pleased to announce that our FIDE-rated in-person blitz tournaments are back, run by legendary organiser Adam Raoof!
The first will be on Thursday 14th October: 6 rounds of 10-minute blitz, starting at 7:30pm at our new venue (The Holly Bush, 22 Holly Mount, Hampstead, London NW3 6SG). Click here to enter.
(We eventually intend to resume the tradition of hosting these on the first Thursday of each month, but we won’t be able to do that for a while, as we weren’t able to secure bookings at our venue on all the necessary dates.)
In addition, there will be a friendly match between a Hendon team and a “Rest of the Middlesex League” team on 30th September, this coming Thursday, at the Holly Bush. Others are welcome to come along and watch or play social chess, subject to space in the venue, though we will need to maintain a quieter atmosphere than on a social chess evening.
On 5th October there will be a friendly match against Muswell Hill, played at Muswell Hill’s venue, the Clissold Arms. There will be no club night on 7th October.
We have no specific plans beyond 14th October at present, as we are currently in discussions regarding the resumption of the OTB Middlesex League. We will post more information when it is available.
